Sofia graduated the Faculty of Law of St. Petersburg State University with a Master’s degree in Business Legal Support. She began her professional career at a consulting company, where she provided legal support for commercial organizations (including those specializing in leasing), handled complex industrial equipment deliveries, and handled contract disputes.
At Kachkin & Partners, Sofia specializes in a wide range of civil, land, urban development, and investment law issues. Sofia provides legal assistance on various issues arising during investment, construction and real estate operations, including legal due diligence, analysis of urban planning and permitting documentation, comprehensive transaction support and representation of clients in arbitration courts and courts of general jurisdiction. As part of the Kachkin & Partners team, Sofia has, among other things:
- conducted due diligence of real estate properties, project documentation, and owner companies to assist clients in acquiring real estate rights and implementing large-scale construction projects in St. Petersburg, the Leningrad Region, Moscow, Crimea, and Vladivostok;
- represented the interests of the largest Russian agricultural production holding in a legal dispute challenging the purchase and sale agreement for an agricultural land plot concluded at auction;
- consulted on issues of adapting cultural heritage sites for modern use and created contractual frameworks for the sale of premises in such sites;
- structured an investment project to create a recreational complex: prepared the text of the lease agreement using the build-to-suit model, provided general consulting and support for negotiations;
- supported the sale of a land plot with developed and approved documentation for the construction of an office and business center in St. Petersburg.
- participated in supporting a transaction for the acquisition of real estate in Thailand.
Sofia is fluent in English.
