Kachkin & Partners’ lawyers successfully completed a major project on business restructuring of a large property owner
Kachkin & Partners was invited by a large property owner for legal support on a complex of issues concerning the restructuring of corporate structure and property registration scheme for real estate.
Within the project, which had been lasting for almost a year and a half, a multi-stage scheme of client`s assets structuring was proposed and implemented. It was developed considering various risks, including assets’ protection and in order to avoid operational risks. Given the fact that the ultimate beneficiaries were nonresidents, the proposed decision also included reasoning of the optimal scheme from the point of view of taxation and currency legislation.
According to the results of developed corporate decisions, Kachkin & Partners’ task also included the steps for updating and reissuing titles to more than 25 real estate objects, complicated by the fact that all objects changed their characteristics within the performed redevelopment, and these changes had not been registered by the client before the process of business restructuring.
According to Kachkin & Partners` lawyers activity the ownership for all real estate objects including all redevelopment and improvements was completely restructured, the corporate structure was aligned with the objectives set by the client, and the legal risks connected with loss of control over the company or loss of property were significantly decreased.
