Legal advice on joint stock companies’ regulations

As an open joint stock company (OJSC), our Client was obliged, under the Russian legal regulations, to disclose information on its business activities, compose and issue various types of shareholders’ reports etc. These obligations were quite a burden due to financial and personnel resources spent. Furthermore, even a minor breach of the time schedule and the report form could have resulted in considerable volume of penalties imposed.

In 2011 the legislation was amended and to some OJSC it was allowed to avoid disclosing a significant part of information. Kachkin & Partners’ associates proactively suggested the Client to submit a request to the controlling authorities and diminish the burdening obligations; that was successfully executed by our team.
