Denis Kachkin spoke about the ways of large-scale project implementation at the “Suburb” summit

17-18 April, St. Petersburg welcomed a summit “Suburb. Land development management”. The “Prigorod” publishing house organized the event. Dmitry Sinochkin, the chief editor, the “Real Estate and Construction in St. Petersburg” editorial director, was a moderator of the summit.

Leading land developers, government representatives, consultants, lawyers attended the event. Market players discussed evolution of the suburban real estate market and why low-rise building construction was still losing somewhat than multifamily housing. They also shared their experience in large-scale project implementation, including those under Public Private Partnership. The summit participants concluded that in spite of positive trends low-rise housing market was still less attractive for buyers than multifamily housing.

Denis Kachkin, Managing Partner of Kachkin & Partners, spoke about benefits of working under Private Municipal Partnership mechanism. “Generally there are several finance sources used in such projects: bank loans, budgets of various levels, private investments, — explained Denis. — More efficient infrastructure facilities operation, rapid development of the territories and as a result additional tax revenues from employers to the budget that should be arrived into the region are the advantages for the municipal government”.
