Kachkin and Partners sponsored the Third Annual Conference on the Resolution of CIS-Related Business Disputes

The international conference took place today in Moscow and was devoted to the resolution of disputes involving Russian and international companies in the national courts in other jurisdictions and international arbitration institutions. The conference was organized by American Bar Association (ABA) and the Russian National Committee of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC Russia).

Kachkin and Partners sponsored this event. Denis Kachkin, the firm’s Managing Partner and Kirill Saskov, the Head of Corporate & Dispute Resolution Practice, participated in conference sessions.

The key conference objective was gathering the members of the international legal community to analyze the current situation and perspectives of the judicial system’s development in Russia, the experience of Russian companies in foreign courts and arbitration,  important civil and criminal proceedings in Russia. Over 200 delegates discussed the issues of ethics and professional responsibility of the representatives in international disputes, corruption in the Russian courts, dealing with the state and state entities in arbitrations and so on.

John Beyrle, U.S. Ambassador to Russia, and Yuri Lyubimov, Deputy Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation, performed with welcoming speeches to the delegates. The conference ended with a reception at the residence of the U.S. Embassy in Russia.
