Successful out-of-court settlement of a tax dispute
Our client, a company carrying out import and trade operations, was illegally accused of failing to pay app. RUB 20 m of customs tax.
The client, with support of our lawyers, challenged the illegal prescription in commercial court. Finally, the first case (RUB 2 m) was resolved in favour of our client in court, and the second one (RUB 18 m) through the out-of-court negotiations.
Tax authorities continued inspecting client’s accounting and trade documentation through all the hearings.
