“Kachkin & Partners” at the 4th International “White Nights” Legal and Investment Forum
The 4th International «White Nights» Legal and Investment Forum was organized by the Government of Arkhangelsk region and Northern (Arctic) Federal University on May 30th – June 1st in Arkhangelsk. This year the Forum followed the investments and moved to Arkhangelsk where a number of major infrastructure and industrial projects would be realized in the nearest future.
The Forum’s working program traditionally included discussions on legislative regulation, legal practice and law firm management issues, as well as social events – receptions, guided tours. In 2013 the program was also supplemented with the University Day, where the leading legal practitioners shared stories about starting brilliant legal careers with the students and gave them advice on choosing a specialization and some professional tips. Kirill Saskov, Head of Corporate and Dispute Resolution Practice at Kachkin & Partners, together with Anna Grischenkova, Head of Dispute Resolution Practice at FBK-Pravo, held a moot court workshop «Professional skills in a lawsuit».
Besides the workshop, Kirill spoke on the secrets of craftsmanship during the sessions «Lawyers’ professional working standards in dispute resolution: special risks and management of such in litigation practice» and «M&A in Russian and not just in Russian: special issues of the experts’ professional cooperation in capital flow projects».
Denis Kachkin, the Managing Partner of Kachkin & Partners, moderated the round table «Public Private Partnership. Perspectives of the institute’s development, regions’ experience and expectations» representing a discussion, initiated by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and involving the representatives of regional authorities, devoted to the draft law «On the PPP in the Russian Federation» revision by the second hearing and the preparation of subordinate acts.
As a panelist Denis took part in the session joining legal practitioners: «Special legal issues of the PPP projects: federal legislative initiatives discussion, recommendations on the PPP regional policy elaboration, specialized PPP practice development».
